About Me
Stacey began singing & dancing at the tender age of eleven. Where she began her ground work @ Babettes Stage School. She performed in Pantomime, Saturday shows with Bonnie Langford, pop videos with the outrageous ‘Boy George’ and Donna Summers ‘Unconditional Love’. Stacey had her first taste recording when along with the rest of
Babettes appeared on a record called, ‘Touch the heart of a child’ made with Anita Harris for The Variety Club. She also performed
at The Berkeley square Ball for the Royal family.
After leaving school Stacey went onto teaching fitness, and in her spare time worked as a club dancer at various venues such as, Mud Club for Phillip Sallon, Spectrum @ Heaven, Camden Palace, Sunrise, Genesis, Biology & Back to the Future.
Stacey was approached one evening by a producer 'Alton Edwards' at a club where she was working as a dancer. he asked if she could sing and she replied 'I'm not tone deaf'.
Stacey knew there was a voice waiting to get out! So off she went to the studio and recorded her first record, ‘Living Beyond Your Means’, with Alton Edwards and Angelo Starr. Within a few
months she was performing on the club circuit in and around London with Martin Collins from Capital radio. Stacey fell pregnant to her then fiance so the project naturally came to an end. When Stacey's baby girl turned a year old Stacey decided to join a live R&B band called B-Movie, where she would sing backing vocals. Playing at many
Venues around London including, ‘The Orange’ West Ken and ‘The Mean Fiddler’. Stacey went on to perform BV’s for various producers including Brian Henry (keyboard player for Eternal). It wasn’t long before she introduced her gift for writing, to producers where
the vibe was excellent. Stacey seemed to have a talent for producing melodic vocals.
In 1998 she began an Access to Music course at Redbridge College, London. All students were placed into five piece bands, and the most productive were asked to play at ‘The Mean Fiddler, to compete against other music students on the access course around the country. Within eight weeks Stacey used her back log of songs to produce a full set with the rest of the band (Itai Doshin), who were then asked to play & represent the college. Needless to say they won and were approached by promoters and RCA Records. Stacey left college after 8 months to work on what seemed a promising project, becoming disillusioned when things didn’t seem to be going in the direction she had hoped.
Steve Long from Inferno Records approached Stacey, who introduced her to Matt Darey. Stacey performed vocals on a track Called ‘Sweetness’ by Xstasia' which did well on
Compilations such as, Trance Nation and Euphoria. Then she was introduced to Michael Woods who was just starting out in music. He asked Stacey if she could write some lyrics for a piece of music he had. Stacey came back with ‘ Warrior’ ‘which they signed to Incentive Records. It reached the no 19 in the national charts. Stacey went on to performing all over England, Scotland and Wales.
In June 2001 they released the second single ‘Voodoo’, which reached just outside the top twenty. She performed at Eden in Ibiza with Radio 1’s Dave Pearce. Stacey sang vocals on Accadia's Blind visions, M1’s Heaven Sent and recently Svhwarzkoph dancing in the dark . Stacey sang backing vocals for The Lol Williams jazz cover band performing around the Spanish Islands and also Ronnie Scotts in the UK
Currently Stacey is writing her first album with her partner who was the writer/ producer for 'Plastic Jams' Made in 2 Minutes. Their sound, is a chilled laid back mixture of live and electronic grooves, covered in smoky vocals. The track called GO was recently used as the tune for the drink Go Wodka. It's had loads of interest that they've done an electro remix. Not wanting to steer off course from the vibe they've created. Stacey and her partner are now sending out the album to venues in and around london ready to go out as a four piece acoustic band.
